For the past several years, students and teachers of the Macon County School District have been the recipients of traditional school supplies donated by the Community-At-Large.
Spearheaded by State Rep. Pebblin Warren, local and area churches/houses of worship, community groups and social organizations have embraced the BACK-TO-SCHOOL event by loading school buses with required school supplies.
The Bash has even been extended to include cyber media supplies, including iPad cases and chargers, stylus pens, etc.
Rep. Warren and community leaders are gearing up for the 2017 BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH and will claim it as the ‘Biggest Bash’ yet recorded. Details include: Friday, July 28, 1- 5 p.m., delivery of all supplies for Pre-K to 12th Grade to the Booker T. Washington High School Gymnasium, and at 6 p.m. volunteers will pack individual bags for the students. Supplies for teachers will also be assembled at that time.
Saturday, July 29, 10 a.m.: distribution of supplies to students and teachers will begin in BTW Gym. Supplies will be distributed ONLY to Macon County Students and Teachers. Proper identification of teachers may be required. Fun and refreshments will also be available during the day.
“All County Group Participation” is the goal for the 2017 BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH.
