George Washington Carver Elementary hosted a Career Fair on Friday, April 20. The school is following the mission statement to construct partnerships between schools, parents and the community that empowers students to develop into productive, self-motivated individuals with a life-long love for learning by providing a safe and comfortable environment enriched with academic excellence.

By hosting the career fair, it introduces the students, at a very early age, to start thinking on possible career paths they might want to enter. It also allowed parents to get a chance to look at different career paths.

Several community partners were at the Career Fair, such the Tuskegee Police and Fire Departments, Southern Union Community College, Tuskegee University’s Department of Education and School of Agriculture, as well as the Veterans Hospital nurses.

The Career Fair will be an annual event and businesses or individuals that want to participate next year can contact Gloria Clinkscales at 334-727-2700.
